One of my absolute favorite parts about this job is that I get to loop with these little monkeys. I get to watch them grow up. I get to see how they change and improve and struggle over the years. I get to journey with them as they grow up and, eventually, move on from me.
This little man has been with me for four years...from the very beginning. Sometimes he drives me crazy and I hold up four fingers to remind him that by year four he should know what my expectations are. But sometimes (much more frequently) I melt and wonder how I've been so lucky to spend year after year with this dude.
He was just itty-bitty about five minutes ago. I am not sure what happened.
And here he is showing his impressive intellect and poise. He is sweet and quirky and hard-working.
Hopefully fifth grade moves slower than slow this year. I am not quite a fan of this moving on thing.
