We celebrated our first Friday of Advent by decorating our tiny classroom Christmas tree. We read a beautiful Patricia Polacco story called Uncle Vova's Tree--a retelling of her tradition of decorating a big tree at the family farm where she grew up--and were inspired to string popcorn for our own tree. A new tradition for us! We also decorated a few ornaments to brighten up our classroom.
