Mads and I have learned that carpet squares sure come in handy when learning about plotting points on a coordinate plane. We created a big X and Y axis using green yarn and used the spaces to practice plotting and naming points. Perfect! We found objects from all over the classroom to place on the plane, and then went to work labeling the points with the appropriate coordinates (sorry math book, you did not even come close to being as fun).
