Our end of the day ritual consists of cozying up our comfy chairs and diving back into our chapter book read aloud. So far this year we have treasured the stories of Stuart Little and Charlotte's Web (we were on an E.B. White kick). For the last couple of months, we have been journeying with Ma, Pa and the girls as they settle into their Little House on the Prairie.
As we read today, we heard of the new stable that Pa built for Pet and Patty (their beloved horses). Ma was excited to see one morning that a new colt had been born! It was quite a joyful moment for all of us readers! An interesting conversation ensued.
Noah: Waaaaaait a minute. Are you telling me that Pet and Patty are a boy and a girl horse?
(after pausing in hopes to sidestep this potentially interesting conversation...) Me: Yes, I suppose they are!
Noah: Oh. OOOOh. (With a fascinated look on his face.) Good thing horses don't need a hospital!
