Powerful Poetry

I would like to introduce you to Lizzie. Take a look. Right there, you see her? She is a tiny lizard who helps us point to words on the Word Wall so we can practice reading and spelling unfamiliar words. She has brought a lot of joy to our classroom. So much so, that we have even been a bit too eager with her. Please notice that she lost a limb in a tragic Word Wall accident. It was devastating.

In a related note, Noah has been working on seeing ordinary, everyday things in a new light. We have looked at the things around us in a different way to write brilliant poetry with astonishing language. Lizzie became the focus of one such poem! Check it out!

**Also, it was decided that since "Xavier" had made its appearance in a poem, it no longer needed to be on the word wall. It was a sad day to retire such a great word :)
Lizzie is a helpful lizard. She climes and climes and climes. She also inspires us to read tricky words like Xavier and she points and points to a word that we mite want to read and we really really like her. Sometimes Lizzie likes to rest in her nice purple spot and she doesn't work for the rest of the day.
