What better way to study the parts of a flower than to disect a BEAUTIFUL springtime lily? We learned all about the parts of the flower including the petals, pistol, stigma, stamen and anthers. (Don't worry. Our plant still has many lovely blooms, and more to come. We needed to disect them...for the sake of science!) How fascinating that a flower has all it needs for reproduction--but it needs the help of bees, birds, or the wind to help the process take place. Amazing!
Bravo to Joanna Cole for helping us understand this process. The kids of Ms. Frizzle's class took another incredible adventure to explore all of the parts of the flower. Check it out!
