Here are a few quick highlights of our fall thus far. I certainly could improve my blogging--it just continues to slip my mind! I will try harder. Really I will. Hopefully.

| Turning small Georgia residents into BIG Detroit Tiger's fans. Welcome to our school Justin Verlander. |
 |
| Mourning the end of the series with said newly ordained Tiger's fans. |
 |
Celebrating the Communion of Saints. (Bl. Mother Teresa, our mother Mary, St. Luke, St. Cecelia, Bl. Kateri, and St. John the Baptist)
Other highlights include: - Gutting a carving a 40-lb pumpkin whom we affectionately named "Big Boo"
- Venturing into the inner depths of the earth (Holy smokes...it is super hot there!) and the deepest trenches of the ocean.
- Designing and creating our own deep-sea creatures after studying the interesting characteristics of some freaky real-life creatures. Ours are still in the papier-mache and painting phase. But before we are able to show you ours, check out these suckers. I looked/acted fascinated in class, but really I was thinking WOOF.
- Writing heart-wrenching fiction and nail-biting adventure stories. We even started recording our stories on Photobooth to help with our creative story telling before the writing process. I will ask them for permission to post their story-telling. They are gloriously intense. And include bear-attacks. Obviously.
- Native American research projects--We haven't gotten too far past the fact that Cherokee children rarely wore clothing. There was a uncharacteristic amount of giggling, which is saying a lot. We are serious gigglers.
I will be posting more highlights soon. It has been an incredible joy to see the ways my sweet kiddos are changing, progressing, and blossoming into creative, critical, adventurous learners. God is so good to our little school! |
