Our word wall grew in holiness today as we ventured out for a word to help us practice the "--tion" word family. Noah had been wanting to write the word information but wasn't sure how to spell the "ation" chunk. I showed him how to spell the word nation which helped in that moment. We moved on to religion without much more of a thought of the "tion" sound.
We have been learning about the Mass and the miracle that occurs while the priest is saying the words of concecration. It took us a while to work through it, but we finally read the word Transubstantiation--when the bread and wine become the body and blood of Jesus.
A look of sheer delight came across Noah's face as he discovered perhaps the coolest "--ation" word ever. We could not pass it up. It is, by far, the longest word on our wall full of high frequency words, and definitely the holiest!
