Noah's use of language has perplexed me lately, as he has been aquiring new vocabulary at an incredible capacity. Granted, I tend to use colorful, dramatic language in the classroom to expose the kiddos to all kinds of speech. Some recent highlights: (please keep in mind Noah just turned eight)
"Miss Rachel. I would like to draw pictures of the tadpole in my non-fiction text. But not all the pictures, only the ones that are most astonishing to me."
"It has been raining all morning. It is a dismal day."
"How long do you need me to hold this paper? I am exasperated."
Looks like our lesson on the use of synonyms has practical application after all :)
I'm just so frightened.
