Our morning work in the classroom consists of a rotation of different language activities. Sometimes there is sentence correcting to work on, or Word Wall words to practice, or a word chain to practice our spelling. Recently I have been writing a question on the board to focus on verbal and written expression. Questions are anything from what I should do that weekend, to what kind of reading strategy they prefer when reading their favorite book.
I usually like to incorporate happenings from our lives--and yesterday I wanted to share with the kiddos about my grandparents getting ready to celebrate 60 years of marriage. Holy smokes! I asked Noah and Mads to simply share some of their thoughts--why is it a good thing to get married? Madison wrote about following God's plan and praying about whether he is calling you to marriage or to the religious life (Yes. I am, in fact, learning about vocation from a ten-year-old :) So brilliant and holy!).
But also...
"It is good to get married because you can walk up to the Altar and have a romantic time. Also, you get to have a baby. But if you're not sure about getting married, ask God and he will tell you if you are supposed to get married." -Noah
Lord, teach me to slow down and listen to the wisdom you speak to your children! Rachel, Thank you for loving through your teaching and teaching through your loving.
